At CCEL, we understand that good accommodation is just as important as the quality of education. That’s why we offer a variety of options to make sure you have a comfortable and supportive living environment during your time in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Homestay

Living with a local New Zealand host family is a popular choice for our students. It’s not just accommodation, it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in the Kiwi lifestyle. It’s a fun way to learn outside of the classroom as your family will often help support you on your language journey.

Why choose homestay?

Comfortable single room with a bed, storage space, heater, and desk.
Enjoy breakfast and dinner during the week, and three meals on weekends and public holidays.
Free internet access for reasonable use.
Experience daily life with your host family, including participating in chores, sharing meals, and socialising. It’s a great way to improve your English!
All our homestay families undergo careful selection and continuous monitoring to ensure a welcoming environment for our students. While most students find living with a host family enjoyable, our accommodation staff are available to provide support if needed.

Alternative Accommodation Option

In addition to our own homestay programme, you have the option to arrange accommodation through Host Families New Zealand.

Host Families New Zealand provides assistance with settling in and transportation to CCEL on your first day.

*Please note that applications for this option must be submitted at least one month before your arrival in Christchurch.
