At a Glance

The High School Preparation course at CCEL provides you with the opportunity to improve your language skills in a fun and supportive environment.

You will develop confidence in using English for all aspects of your daily life and build confidence in using English while at school gaining skills you will be able to use anywhere, while making friends from around the world.

Course Length

Maximum of 24 weeks.

Full-time, 20 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8.30 am – 1.00 pm).

Levels Available

Elementary to Advanced (6 Levels).

Full-time only available.

Minimum Entry Levels

Minimum age 15 years old

Elementary to Advanced level of English integrated classes

What You’ll Learn

Speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities.
Key language for a range of subject areas: Mathematics, Science, History and Literature.
Independent and cooperative research skills to complete projects.
Confidence in presentation skills.

Start Dates and Duration

Classes start every Monday (or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday), and you can enrol for anywhere from 2 to 24 weeks, depending on your goals and availability.

Course Fees

Tuition fees vary based on the length of your course. For full-time study, prices range from NZD 453 to NZD 432 per week, plus additional enrolment and materials fee.

What You’ll Achieve

In integrated classes students will:

Develop their language sills
Build confidence in communication skills
Participate in project work
Develop their vocabulary
Participate in extensive reading programmes
Have one-to-one tutorials with their teachers (depends on length of enrolment – minimum of 5 weeks required)
Have their progress monitored

Placement and Assessment

Listening, reading, writing and speaking skills are assessed through five weekly level tests
Participating in class tasks, individual and group, and completing assigned set tasks.
