Ensuring Your Health and Safety in Aotearoa New Zealand

Passports

As an international visitor to New Zealand, it is essential to hold a passport that remains valid for at least 3 months beyond your intended departure date from the country.

Visa Requirements

Short Courses

For courses lasting up to 3 months, you may need to apply for a Visitor Visa unless you are from a visa waiver country. Immigration New Zealand offers a Quick Check tool to determine your visa eligibility. You may need to apply for an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) and can check this on the Immigration New Zealand website.

Long Courses

If you plan to study with us for more than 3 months, you must apply for a Student Visa. You should carefully follow the First Time Student Visa Application Information Sheet when completing your application.

If you are preparing for further study at the University of Canterbury or UC International College, you may be eligible to apply for a Pathway Student Visa.

Insurance

All international students are required to have current medical and travel insurance while studying in New Zealand.
