I remember my first day of CCEL and it exceeded my expectations! From the first day everybody was friendly and introduced themselves.
It's really easy to make friends and what I particularly liked is the fact that in the same class you can find four to five nationalities. It was really interesting to discover their culture and way of thinking. Staff and teachers are awesome, they take care of you and are always happy to help you. Another good part of CCEL was the activities, every month was different and it's great to have fun all together! In short I really enjoyed my time at CCEL! Maider Ortiz, France
Have you seen the Southern Cross Star? Have you placed yourself into the great nature? Have you seen a city which is full of flowers, green and friendly local people? That’s why I chose New Zealand for study! Before I came to NZ, I had many images about NZ but those were unclearly. What’s the difference between British and American English? What’s summertime? Is it true people love to drink? How many movies/locations can I see? If you are planning to come to NZ, you might have got many questions and worries like I did. But please don’t worry too much! You will find your answers with big fun during your stay here. The teachers, friends, host family and so on, everyone happy to help you and have great time with you!! Kazune Nakada, Japan
I was nervous and not sure if I could survive my first day and next day… but now I look at further away and think about my future. I hope that I use English in my future job. Mihiro Kageyama, Japan
CCEL provides a wide range of activities each week. For nearly every taste you will find something like a variety of free team sports, visits to local sport events, theatre, concerts or operas and well-organised weekend trips to discover the beautiful landscape of the South Island of New Zealand. If you want to practise your English you can join the weekly conversation club or go for an organised walk to particular nice spots around Christchurch.
I find it very easy to make friends at CCEL although we come from different cultures. There are a lot of ways you can make friends. I get plenty of chances to talk with my classmates who are from different countries in the class. With a good environment, I can have more conversation with my classmates after class as well. Also, school organises a variety of activities such as playing spots and several trips in NZ which help me meet a lot of friends. One alternative to making friends is to join the conversation club organised for free once a week.
All my teachers are excellent. They are good at teaching, and they always correct our pronunciation. It’s very useful for improving our English.
I’d like to go a English language school that has calm and quiet area for studying. CCEL is located in the University of Canterbury campus. I could use the University facilities and get impressed to study. It has Business class that is useful for TOEIC or when I work a company. Hye jin (Alicia) Kim, Korea
